Professional Achievements & Experience:
Before accepting the first professional contract in China in 2017, I was teaching various aspects of EAL, Language Arts, TOEFL and IELTS preparation as well as Guidance in secondary and post-secondary settings in North America and Europe. For four years, I was honoured to lead a team of 25 ESL Instructors in a federally-funded newcomer settlement agency in Ontario, Canada.
At the same time, I was employed by the Conestoga College IELTS Centre as Writing and Speaking IELTS Examiner. In that capacity, I checked writing tasks and interviewed about 300 IELTS candidates to evaluated their language proficiency.
My recent experience include Queensland/Australia Language Arts work program design and delivery as well as hands-on expertise in delivering IB MYP and AP Language Acquisition.
Approach to Teaching & Learning:
Teaching students, particularly English Language learners, to communicate effectively, to work both independently and collaboratively as well as to think critically is my main approach and objective.
One of the goals is to engage students in activities and projects that help them practice and develop a range of competances necessary in the 21st century.
I’m a big fan of North American professional hockey and basketball. Besides, my interests include reading, watching movies and travelling. Twice a week, I go jogging.
